Tarkan questions

1. What is the name of the "kiss-song"?
Now this may sound as a strange question for those of you that have been around for a while, but it is actually a question that people, who just discovered Tarkan, are asking me. The name of the song is "Şımarık". You can find the lyrics and translation in English in the Song Lyrics page.

2. When will his new album be released?
Tarkan's new Turkish album will probably be released November/December 2000, in 44 countries at the same time. The exact release date hasn't been confirmed yet, but it is said to be surely released in the year 2000. Keep checking the Latest news page for updates.

3. When is Tarkan going to give a concert in my country?
Before the album gets released, there will be no concerts planned. Next year he will probably be touring Turkey, Europe and the rest of the world, but you'll have to keep checking the Latest news page for more info.

4. Is there going to be an English album?
There are plans for an English album, but not in the near future. There's first going to be the new Turkish album.

5. Is Tarkan gay?
If he would be, that would be a private matter and he wouldn't have to share it with the rest of the world. We all love him for his music and his personality, his sexual preferences wouldn't make a difference. But in a recent interview (On-line chat, Starmedia, June 2000) he confirmed to be straight, so he is not gay!

6. Does Tarkan have a girlfriend?
Whether or not he has a girlfriend at the moment is -again- a private matter. We have to respect his privacy, so let's not ask these personal questions.

7. Is the color of his eyes in the "Şımarık" clip real?
No, the color of his eyes in the clip are not his natural color. He has green eyes, with a touch of brown.

8. Why is Tarkan not living in his beautiful homeland Turkey?
Tarkan left Turkey about 5 years and moved to New York. The reason he didn't want to stay in Turkey, was because he is very popular over there, and he had a hard time dealing with the consequences of his success, so he decided to live in New York where he can live a normal life.

1. I want to make a website about Tarkan. Why can't I copy things from this site?
The reason why is very simple - because I want to protect my work. I worked very hard to make this website into something special, a unique place for Tarkan fans to be, and I would like to keep it that way. About 80% of the pictures were scanned by myself, a lot of the pictures were taken by myself at his live concerts and are therefore under my copyright. The people who translated the lyrics are my personal friends, they have worked very hard on them and they are exclusively for my site. I hope you can respect their hard work as much as I do.
